Buces are melting

A few weeks ago i purchased a couple of clumps of mini bucephelandras.

When they arrived they were dark green and lush. However they have started melting and 3 weeks later they look on the verge of death. These pics were taken a few days back. THey are worse now.

The tank im holding them in belongs to my father in law. It is chock full of healthy plants. Lots of anubias growing really nice and fast. So im confused why only my buces are dying.

Anyone got any ideas?

Its a hi tech tank. CO2 and lighting 8 hours a day.

It looks like emersed growth. Leaves may melt completely, but from the rhizomes new submersed leaves will appear. As long as rhizome is hard and green (more or less green) it will regrow. This melting probably isn't caused by conditions in tank, it's just the transition.

just to follow up every single leaf melted and i was left with just the rhizomes for a long while, but then last week new growth emerged. They are coming back to life. Just in time for me to add to my first ever fish tank in a month or so.

Great to hear that! When they start growing it will only get better and better, quickly you'll get beautiful plants :)
Great to hear and also thanks for taking the time to update this post. It is definitely helpful to me from a learning experience :).
Damn what a waste of money to buy the emersed one.
