Bucephalandra cf Motleyana "bengoh" - I bought this from a seller in Tokyo, Japan. He imports Aroids from Malaysia and had this Bucephalandra labeled as B. cf Motleyana "bengoh". This is the biggest bucephalandra I have so far, the leaves are long and wide with moderately wavy edges. The leaf color is dark green (the yellowing is caused by the lighting - the leaves are pressed against the glass cover). The leaf mid-rib is prominent, the leaf stalk is as long as the leaf blade. The young leaf stalk is red in color and just as long as the leaf blade. This plant tends to grow upright and hasn't formed a side shoot yet. The spathe is still small and narrow.

The new name of this aroid is Bucephalandra bogneri* - this is according to Dr. Peter Boyce of the University of Malaysia and The Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, UK.

* - Josef Bogner, botanist (1939 - )
