Bubble rate

Hi all,
I am pretty new to the planted tank scene,I started out kinda big with my 125g .

Running about 390w of CFL lighting three 6700k bulbs and three 10,000k bulbs.

It is pretty well planted with low to medium light plants and about 30 fish or so.

I am using rootmedic fert tabs and am dosing with about 2 1/2 teaspoon of excell daily.

So my question is this,I recently bought a co2 setup and am curious as to what I need to set the bubble rate to,right now I have it at about 1bps oh and I have it hooked into a power head to disperse it.

So any good advise is welcome!

Thanks,Daniel

Get drop checker and set bubble rate to whatever you need to
Will using excell with co2 make a difference with using a drop checker?

sorry about the bad pic it was taken with my phone, I will post some better ones later:icon_redf

Dosing Flourish Excel will not cause a change in the reading of a drop checker.

Excel wont affect DC if thats what you ask. Excel is liquid and it wont change into gas (which DC needs to work)
don't forget to use 4 dkh in the drop checker.
OK, so I guess a drop checker is next on the list of things to buy!

Think I saw someone on here that was selling them.

Thanks for all of your responses.
I run 1bps in my current 30gal setup, so you can definitely increase the bubs that in yours. Though the *wattage number* seem high the plants growth suggest lighting is not very high, so you don't have to go crazy with the Co2 to compensate.

I would increase to 2.5bps~ and go from there. When you do get the DC, mount it low in a hard to reach corner to get an 'accurate' Co2 level.
for a 125 your goign to need a bubble rate thats going to be much higher than you can count (normaly) there are many factors on this but a tank that size will prob be faster than u can count and will need most likely a few powerheads to help push the co² around or have multiple outlets. you might even try two dc one on each side to show how the co² can be high on one side and not on another helps you correct it if you have weak/slow flow.

Watched the video of this and looked pretty cool, do you use this on your tank? The part that is actually in the tank is separate from the diffuser or does it come with it?

I got a Mazzie , But this Diffuser is made in 2 models one for inline or in the tank use . I plan on getting a 65m in tank diffuser for a back up spare.
I'm assuming you have a light fixture with two rows of 65 watt PC bulbs in it, probably with a less than great reflector. If that's true, you probably have low to low medium light, and CO2 isn't essential. So, any bubble rate you get is going to help the plants. A drop checker will help make sure you don't get too much, and gas the fish. Even if you have a reflector as good as the AH Supply reflectors, you probably have only medium light, so you don't need to run the CO2 up to the highest you can without harming the fish.
Yes it has two rows of bulbs,I bought the light from catalina aquariums.

So I may not be running enough light?
