actually my specs are in my sig
and it atarted happening after i added my 2 plant bulbs... the 2 flora-sun
I only got brown algae after adding PH Down. Turns out the stuff has phosphates in it and brown algae loves that. Unless your sure phosphates aren't the problem I would try a phosphate remover product.
keep wiping it off till your tank gets established better? reduce your photoperiod?

is it just like a coating on everything? or is it more of a blob or tuft of brown algae?

could it possibly be rhizoclonium? sometimes rhizo can be brown
anywho this site usually helps with algae battles

Plants need phosphates to grow, phosphate removers are a bad idea for planted tanks.

How long has the tank been running? Diatoms and brown algae are common in new tank setups. Sometimes all you can do is remove what you can and wait it out until the tank matures.
tank has been up for almost a year..... and its a coating on everything

my photo period is like 9 am to 10 pm so 13 hours
Why do you have such a long photoperiod? I would advise that you cut it down to 10 hours first, and then eventually down to 8 hours.
i agree with darkblade, you will have to battle it till your photoperiod is correct... just wipe everything down well at waterchange time and do bigger sized waterchanges maybe... when diatoms run their life cycle i think i read they actually release more silica into back into the water when they die... so when you wipe them off maybe it should be at water change time...
thanks for the tips guys
