OK well the new 2.5 has been running for a week. I'm starting to see the start of the normal brown algae outbreak. I'm tying to bypass it by using substrate from an already planted tank, using some ceramic from the planted tank filter, an Algone packet and lots of Wisteria. Any other suggestions or help would be great! Thanks

Time will get rid of the brown algae. Once the aquarium settles in and reaches its balance, the brown algae should subside. If waiting isn't your thing , an Oto will chow down on the brown!
