Broke my CO2 diffuser, should I run zero light?

501 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Phil Edwards
This morning while cleaning my CO2 diffuser I snapped the bend part and I won't be able to get a new one in the mail for a few days. What are best options here in the mean time?

1.) Should I run zero light?

2.) Should I run medium light for 6-8 hours? Currently running a Twinstar E series at 70% for 8 hours a day.

3.) Should I stop adding ferts or cut the dose in half?

Any advice would be appreciated. This is why you should always have a backup. 😖

Do have a power head you add temporarily? If so, run the co2 into the impeller for a quick fix till your new diffuser comes

What kind of filter are you using? If you don't have a powerhead as Thenoob suggested, then you can run the gas line into your filter intake. Other options would be to get some wood air stones or bamboo chopsticks that you can shove in the gas line to break it up into smaller bubbles like we used to do "Back When I Was Your Age" ;)
