Sooooo I'm in mexico now and I wanna bring home some rocks with me

Not too much maybe about 10 pounds of lava rock

So my question is is it cool to bring rocks in your checked bag across the border mexico to houston

Anyone have recent experience with this. Is it cool or could I get screwed

Well to answer my question
Yes you can...

Well I dunno if you can but I did
Had them in my checked bag packed like this

I did notice they went through my bag cause all my stuff was all jumbled and disorganized
But I did make it home with no hassle
So I guess it is ok

Ya they were pretty dirty so they are actually soaking in a bucket of water right now

I didn't even declare them
They did ask if I had any plants or fruit though
But not rocks!
