When if ever, do you put a pregnant live bearer into the breeding trap?
Do you just put them in there when you think its getting close to time
for them to drop their fry? I've put a blue Mickey Mouse platy into one
because she looks like it could be anytime, but now it just looks like shes
very unhappy. She spends most of her time trying to get out. If you use breeding traps which is the best one?

I've found the standard, small breeding traps to be very stressful on fish. I use a 10g tank with a large, mesh plant pot (the type used in ponds) wedged into the tanks top rim. The mother is placed into the planter along with some plants to reduce stress and add cover. When the fry are born, they swim out through the holes in the planter into the empty tank.
