boiling cholla w attached moss?

I have some cholla wood with some mosses attached... it still floats and i prefer to boil for safety but will that kill the moss? If so will putting in a microwave kill off the bad with out harming the moss?

Of course boiling it will kill the moss as well. Just tie the wood to a rock until it sinks.
True boiling water takes the skin off people, it will certainly do the moss in! Lots of people think they get boiling water out of their faucets but that is really less than 150 degrees in most cases. That's a long way from boiling.

Got to say this is true!
For one reason wood soaks better in deeper water, we might look at water pressure. If we could put the wood down 20-30 feet it might cut the soaking time in half but then that gets real awkward for most of us?
