So I've been looking for a new light fixture to replace the 2x18W coralife on my 30-C and I stumbled across these desk lamps:

The color temperature is 5900K and they have a very high CRI rating so I'm thinking they would be perfect for accurately portraying plant colors.

Before I shell out $100 on one of these, are there any better 12" lighting options out there? And does anyone know if the high CRI rating will make a huge difference in making my tank look aesthetically pleasing, compared to say the coralife bulbs I'm using now?

ecoxotic stunner LEDs...CRI may look nice but won't necessarily grow plants well at all. In fact generally speaking CRI and PAR are almost inversely related.

Ah you're right, apparently the higher the CRI the less efficient the bulb. Glad I didn't go that route.

How many of those Stunner strips would I need to get to achieve medium/high lighting. I'm thinking 2 would be good?
