I have a 30 gallon emersed set up. I'm growing the plants in pots with flourite as a substate. The water level comes up within 1/2 inch of the substrate. The substate remains damp but not submerged. I'm getting blue green algae growing on my substate and a few of my anubias are infected. The algae is growing on the roots of the plants.

How can I combat this stuff? I don't want to move the anubias to my aquarium and infect it with this algae.

I plan on cleaning the whole emersed set up. I'm gonna take the plants out and clean the flourite the best I can by just rinsing it out.

Is there anything I can do to clear this up?
