We caught Apistos and Laetacara in just about every scoop in places like this:

That muck, believe it or not, is cow manure. Apistos and other dwarf cichlids everywhere.

This little pond was in the middle of a cow pasture

that makes me wonder, would u be able to help me with myy biotope lauralee? lol what plants didja find with what species of apistos?

The only aquatic plants we saw in Apisto habitat were floaters and a few swords in shallow water. Nothing else. Leaf litter, tannins, and driftwood would make the "truest" Apisto habitat.

That was a female apisto in breeding color.

Oh thanks! I'd been looking for that species name, I'd seen it before but hadn't had any luck finding it again! :thumbsup:
