Ok so I am getting a Biocube 29 thats currently a reef tank. The current lighting configuration is as follows:

• Stock 36W compact fluorescents
• 1 actinic
• 1 combination 10K and actinic.
• Main light is a 70W metal halide, with a 14K ushio bulb.

I'm assuming the actinics are useless for a planted tank setup, what modifications should I make. I'm also guessing I will need a pressurized CO2 system with the all the exiting lighting.

I've also got an old Eheim 2217, should I spark it up as additional filtration or is it overkill?

I think I'd run either the 2x36 CFs or the MH. Either should provide enough light that you'd still need CO2.

I thought it was hard to rig up filter intake and outputs in BioCubes? Though I've never owned one to know for sure. A 2217 would be nice, though.
