Hi all. I have a mr aqua 12g long but my canister filter is a 5/8" input/output. what would be the best way to attach 1/2" pipes to the canister filter?

i have a few nipple connecters for that. had a problem and needed to go from 1/2 to 5/8 so i bought a 5 pack. if you want one $1 + shipping.

Does it make a difference on how much 1/2 vs 5/8 hose i use when going to/from a canister filter that's 5/8?

i would say yes as you are restricting the flow but for the 12gal tank thats probably fine. just make it like 8" long and you should be ok.
