55g..... Nano? Low tech or high setup ?

I assume you mean a 55g with nano fish.

There's a lot to work with. S. Repens, Drawf rotala, dwarf hair grass, dwarf baby tears, anubias petite, any moss, glosso, dwarf four leaf clover... the list goes on and on. Find plants with smaller leaves really and you're good to go. There's tons out there. I think there is even a nano plant list around the forum somewhere

Best? Some will do better then others based on temperature, light, water conditions, substrate, ammount of care required and so on.

But to answer your question: Java Fern.
