Close to none. Its low tech so it probably took a very long time just to get there.

That is really amazing.

While I understand that low tech can also look excellent, I am impressed by the types of plants he is successfully keeping. Some of them are classified as high light on the plantedtank, yet everything looks great.

Exactly. I've never seen such a nice diversity of colorful plants in a low tech tank. He has pretty high light, I'm just blown away by the fact that he gets away without CO2 in a 100 gallon tank.

I didn't read the whole thread, but personally I'm dubious about his ability to keep quite a few of those species looking nice long-term without at least dosing Excel.

That is very true. Come to think of it, I have pretty low light in my tank, and CO2, and I've still been having BBA problems. How he avoids it w/o co2 is beyond me.

I'm changing my mind, I'm on the shenanigans side now.
