I have a 6x2x2ft planted Discus aquarium and i cannot get the plants to grow. I have the CO2 controlled by a controller but do not know anything about lighting.any suggestions regarding the best and economical light set up? I only have plants on the back so the light intensity must be cocentrated on the back.

What kind of lighting do you currently have over the tank?

A single bulb, 6 foot T5HO light, sitting on top of the tank at the back, would give you enough light for low light plants. Or, use a two bulb fixture for high light plants. http://www.catalinaaquarium.com/product_info.php?cPath=71_136&products_id=1425 would work, if you ask them to use planted tank appropriate bulbs instead of the reef tank bulbs.
