Hi everyone, first time poster here.

I'm planning on setting up a dirted NPT 5g when I start my summer job. I was wondering what was the best bulb/light to use for it. The only problem is that it's a Marineland hex, so that aspect may make it somewhat difficult

Planned Plant Stocking:
Anarcharis
Val. nana (maybe)
Hygrophilia
Some variety of anubias
Moneywort (bacopa)
Banana plant
1 or 2 mossballs
and some type of moss

Fish Stocking:
1 female betta :)

Your probably better off using one of those goose neck desk lamps that are normally
used for reading. I'd start off trying a 9W CFL bulb in it.
Depends on how tall this tank is. The 13W CFL may be the correct one.
The 13W one is the correct one for a regular 10g tank which is 12" tall but after
you add a sub it's then 10" tall from the top of the sub. Also on a 10g tank it's
normally used in a "Brooder" type lamp.
Examples...
Globe Electric 32 in. Black Swing Arm Desk Lamp with Durable Clamp-56963 - The Home Depot
Hampton Bay 20-3/4 in. Satin Nickel Desk Lamp-528197 - The Home Depot
Brooder type...
Designers Edge 10-1/2 in. Brooder Lamp with Hang Hook-0165 - The Home Depot
