I haven't been to Ed's Pet world in a very long time, so I went in the other day and that place has really gone down hill. Aquarium Imports in Hoover is much better. They have a lot of supplies but not a very big selection of plants and fish. The guys are very knowledgeable but much of the store is dedicated to salt water. B and B Pet Stop in Mobile is by far the best place I have seen for plants and fish. Their tanks are very well maintained and they have a very large selection. I bought some Emerald Rainbows, Celebes Rainbows, a Madagascar lace and some other great plants that I haven't seen anywhere else. Anyone in the Gulf Coast area looking for a great store? You won't be disappointed.

B and B is the best in the area but their staff are lacking. If you ask by a fish or plant by name instead of leading them and pointing most of them have no idea what you're talking about. And the care information goes as far as the little sticker next to the tank they're held in. i asked if they had any microsword in once not too long ago and the guy first took me to the livebearers and then when i told him it was a plant he kept trying to sell me Amazon sword... If you can catch the supervisors there you have a better chance at getting your questions answered..

They have microsword from time to time....too bad the only dude that knew his [email protected]@ from a hole in the ground is moving away this weekend.....and god forbid the owner get any decent seachem products....

Another nice thing at B&B is that the second Tuesday of every month they have 2 for Tuesdays where you buy one fish, snail, shimp, plant, etc and get the second for 2 cents. Even applies to expensive/big stuff.
