If i were you i would grab two eheim 2217's. They are an amazing filter
I almost went down the path of getting a 2217 for my 75g then getting another down the road but I bit the bullet for an eheim pro 3 2075 since they had dropped in price. My tank was pretty low budget so I wanted something worth my money, and this was it.

Seriously best purchase I've made for a filter. The installation package is perfect and extremely adjustable. Everything about the filter is perfect in my opinion. It's even aesthetically appealing in my open stand. It comes loaded with media, has no bypass by design and maximum flow through all media which means crystal clear water, TONS of media options and finally endless adjustability.

One flaw this filter does not have, and that the classic does, is that the main gasket does not need to slide in and out of the plastic canister part. Four clamps pressure seal the gasket to the canister body. I just did the first maintenance on it today (bought boxing day) which is many many times easier than the eheim classic. Unplug, turn switch to off, disconnect hoses with press of a button. Unlatch clamps and take the motor head off. First thing is a tray with a blue prefilter sponge which tajkes a minute to clean and you can just throw it back in and not worry about the other trays for at least a month or more if the prefilter is cleaned every week. Water enters this tray immediately, flowing through the sponge into a channel that directs it to the bottom of the canister, and back up through two trays of mech, and two trays of substrat pro and up through a trapdoor into the impeller and then tank. Filter comes with media, though I added floss into both trays of bio to fill the space, and purigen between the floss and fine filter pad in the last tray of bio which has clips to lock the lid in place

Flow is not strong enough for a 4ft tank, and would recommend extra equipment for this purpose.
I use a koralia one and my eheim 2213 with no floss just for more flow. The eheim 2075 quickly clears any debris which is in the water which is very important for my tank because of the organic soil base. When I move plants around it gets MESSY usually. Within an hour of it being insanely clouded (stirred up all the mulm I could to get rid of it) I could start seeing through to the back again, 4 hours later and there's a slight haze. 12 hours and it's crystal clear again

eheim should hire me as their rep and let me test their filters ;)

Rena xp4, imo. I use one on a 55g with great results.
Check them out at petmountain for good prices and free shipping..
what do you think of these, i've only heard good reviews saying cheap, full of media, high flow rate, large media capacity, u.v bulb
google all pond solutions 1400 ef
Never used one but, I heard good things about it.
ok i've decicded i will take the plunge and buy a 1400ef, im still unsure about it but what the heck, its better than what i have now and at least its got a warrenty
Pro 3s are great filters. Had a 2076 on my 84g tank and it was plenty.

Only the fluval Gs are easier to maintain.

I was at PJ's Pets in West Edmonton Mall which has the fanciest of all gadgets compared to every other PJ's Pets I've been to and it had this little itty bitty Fluval G on display. This thing was intense :icon_eek:

on a side note, they sold plants sealed in bags haha wonder how long they sat there on the rack.. some looked pretty bad
Whatever.......... Just prefilter........

Rena XP3 or 4

Pack em with Bio and rinse pre filter often....

I run Two XP3's on my 90.
