So, I noticed today that one of my cardinals seems to have what looks like a growth coming out of its lower lip. Upon close inspection, I saw what appeared to be a tiny worm of some sort in the growth. Also, now that I was really looking closely at the fish, I noticed that one of its ventral fins seemed to also have a worm in/on it, hard to tell whether the worm is inside or not. The fish is currently in my 40 gallon community tank, housed with rams and a few other tetras along with loaches. I was wondering what the safest and least damaging way to treat for these parasites is. One of my rams just spawned and I was wondering if there was a cure for this situation that wouldn't kill the fry/eggs. Thanks for the advice.
