So my 29 gallon was struggling and I had been battling BGA, it especially liked the water sprite. I killed the BGA with Maracyn and began dosing according to Tom Barr's EI Dosing Light for Less Techy Folks combined with daily doses of Excel. Dosing method is found HERE and is really easy.

Here is what my tanked looked like on June, 30 2011.

And here is what it looks like 3 months later

Biggest difference is in the water sprite. Soon it will be taking over the entire 1/3 of the tank. The Amazon Sword died back a lot right before I began dosing, it has now put out a bunch of new leaves. The Alternanthera has grown a lot as well and it has been in the tank for about a month and a half.

Overall I'm really pleased with the results so far!

great comparison shots!
are you following closely the EI light as presented in link?

color and growth show a little balanced feeding goes a long way.

for the 29 I do the dose according to the 10-20 instructions and for my 40 I do the 20-40. I decided to start really light and I might increase it at some point.

I dose the tanks after the 50% water change, which I try to do once a week but it went a week and a half last week. But I try to do it once a week.
