After a long hiatus from planted aquaria, I have decided that I'd like to try a smaller project, a simple 10 gallon planted tank with some easy but nice-looking plants. I'll probably end up having some hardscape as well as some slope to my substrate. Ideally, I'd like to have only three or four types of plants - some groundcover, one or two mid-ground plants, and a background plant. I don't want to spend a fortune on fertilizer and CO2 and the like, so some suggestions for hardy, easy to care for plants that fit the criteria above would be much appreciated. In the future, I might try to do DIY CO2 for this tank using yeast or baking soda, but ideally for now, the plants should only require appropriate light + ferts/root tabs/nutrient substrate.

Thanks!
