I just recently planted some bacopa sp. japan and was wondering how to grow it in a tall bush...I've seen all kinds of tanks with it like this...do they use a trellis of some sort or just manipulate the new growth upward?
I usually just off the top and plant it and leave the bottom where it is. Lighting, ferts and C02 play a big role as well. Read this to get an idea about stem trimming technique. With a newly planted tank, I have experimented and tried somethings with my tank just to see how the plants grow. When they are growing well I trim them. If they aren't. I wait.
Bacopa Japan tends to get more bushy then tall. The stems is fairly fragile when it gets fairly tall. Mine doesnt get more then about 6"tall. Likes to go horizontal more then vertical .
