Bacopa monnieri - gooey leaves

Some of the leaves are turning to a gooey mush and falling off. I have never seen this with any of my other plants - it is stringy and slimy. I am dosing ferts appropriately (I think).

DId you just get it? Perhaps it frozed
What do you mean "froze"? I did get it only a couple weeks ago. I also moved it in the tank a few days ago. It's rooting fairly nicely - that's one positive. It had no roots when I got it.
He meant maybe if you just got it very recently it froze in transport. It's cold out.

I'd had similar things happen with stem plants before. Perhaps it's just adjusting to your tank? Keep us updated in a week or so as far as new growth and loss of existing leaves.
I've had that happen to any Bacopa species I've tried. It appears to be fine for the first week and then gradually disintegrates into a gooey mess. I think that, in my case, it may have been a lighting issue since they were slightly shaded and I've read that in lower light, they tend to rot. Are they shaded in your tank at all?
Still looking awful :mad:and making a terrible SLIMY mess that sticks to other plants! I bought them locally. Not shaded really, but they are bunched together which may cause shading. However, I don't think moneywort looks good except tightly bunched. The odd thing is that it's not just bottom leaves. Some tops are doing it. No problem like this with other plants.
Hey, Digsey, what kind of fish is that?

I sure wish I knew what was causing it. I finally just gave up after trying 3 different Bacopas. :(

The fish is Boraras brigittae...they're actually a little more red than that but, for some reason, I haven't been able to photograph the color!
Cool. I might look up the fish. I've never heard of that species.
