Hi, I picked up a bag of Black Diamond (20/40 grit) yesterday. I'm setting up a 10g for shrimp, I'll probably throw some java or xmass moss in there too.

My question is, has anyone mixed anything with it for their plants? I've read to only use certain ferts in shrimp tanks so I'm wondering if I should add soil or something.

Natural soil MAY be OK right off or MAY release ammonia which is part of the gamble using it. Might be better to just add some type of root tabs if you don't have a couple weeks to see how things settle in first using dirt.
