Hi all,

I have a tank that I started about 3-4 months ago. I started adding some Baby Tears and somehow, some sort of fern started growing with the Baby Tears.

I have no idea what the fern is and how it got there, but it seems like it may be some Peacock fern?

It's not that I don't like the fern, but as seen in the picture, it has completely outgrown the Baby Tears and I don't want the Baby Tears to die off.

Is there any way I can separate the two and maybe attach the fern to something else such as my driftwood or other rocks? The fern and the baby tears seem pretty integrated together so I don't know if I can just pull out the fern?

Sorry for the long post. I'm very new to this and have no idea how to handle this situation.

Not the best picture. Your fern looks like it is moss. Just take some tweezers and seperate the two plants. The affix the moss to the wood.

Thanks for the tip. I don't have tweezers, so I'll try just pulling them out. Hopefully the moss won't die off.

nope the moss won't die. it detaches easily and can be grown separately on the wood or whatever you tie it down to.
