Hey ya guys(and girls), I'm trying to do a baby tears (hm) carpet and they are growing slowly but they are starting to grow up and not out?

Is this normal or is there a way to help them carpet better? even if that means planting more of them?

I read you need to train them a bit. Trim them when they grow upwards. Bright light helps too. Mine always turned into a bush instead.

It's a taller foreground plant, so it'll grow a few inches upward (mine seemed to top out at 4") and it'll also spread along the substrate while doing so. I've, like fishscale, also read that trimming it will make it carpet quicker. I kept mine trimmed fairly well in the beginning and it did spread very quickly.
