Hi guys,

Just a quick question, would it be possible to use an automatic feeder to dose dry ferts? One of those circular type with multiple compartments.

You might one to check out Wasserpest's easy auto dose thread using an Aquarium Systems 606 pump to a plastic syringe with airline hose to the tank, controled by a digital timer. It works, its cheap, and I can dose three weeks of macro/trace ferts. I dose the PO4 manually. Here is the link to "Autodosing for Dummies"

The only thing I do different is use one of these things to control the flow. And I use a plastic cereal container to hold the mixture/pump...

My setup doses each night 7 nights a week for one minute.

Yeah, I imagine. Not too up on hose diameters.

Our setup uses a standard small hypodermic syringe (the plastic syringe part) shove/pushed onto the Aquarium systems pump output on the big end of the syringe. The push part has been discarded. Then the little hose is pushed onto where the needle fits. Then I use the device I showed midstream as a sort of ball valve. It looks like what you have is a sort of ball valve so that should work fine, if you can find the right hose.

LD - I tried quite a few feeders to dose ferts dry. None of them worked. Either inaccurate, unreliable, or issues resulting from humidity. Gotta go liquid to autodose.
