I know that algae can grow on snail because i have a huge (golf ball sized) snail in my tank covered with algae. My question is: Could you tie java moss to a snail? Would it have a negative impact on the snail?

Dry the shell and use a drop of 'crazy glue' to attach a little bundle of moss. Wait a few minutes and lower the snail into your tank.

I don't think drag will be an issue as slow as they move. Has anybody actually tried this before?

That sounds like a fun project! If you did that on a massive scale you would have a self scaping ever changing tank!

That's a great idea. Like a living chia pet. You may have to reapply every so often as the snail grows.

Allright, I think I'm going to try it, but with thread, I don't really want to put super glue in my water. If it works, I'll post a picture.

I used a Superglue gel on one of my corals and it worked great Just give it 30 sec's to dry and off ya go

I don't know why you would want to attach stuff to a snail, but superglue should be perfectly safe in your tank. It is used all the time by coral keepers, and doctors use it instead of stitches in many cases.

I don't understand why so many people in this forum are so afraid to use super glue in their tanks. Reefers use it on a daily basis for their frags. Google super glue on Reef Central, I bet 1000 posts come up. Really, it's safe, it's not going to harm anything.

It could harm the moss...never good being encased in glue.
