I read in a lot of places at "higher temps" add an air stone because water cant hold oxygen as well in higher temps.
would 86f be considered airstone worthy in a heavily planted tank or could you get by with just o2 from the pants and maybe some surface movement
but 0 surface agitation

At 86 I'd add an airstone for sure. Not so much 82. In between, I'd have to do some research. ;)

But you can run the airstone at night, when your co2 is off, without losing any co2. Put it on a timer on opposite schedule from your lights and co2. Plants don't photosynthesize (and thus don't need co2) at night.
