Actually, a neat question would be: What snail don't they prey on at all other then themselves?
I agree that this is an interesting concept. They do attack snails larger than themselves by working as a group. I feed mine with baby to juvenile canas, MTS, pouch snails and ramshorns. They also eat commercial foods. I'm not sure anyone would be willing to risk their valuable Sulawesi snails (Tylomelania sp.). Has anyone else tried nerites with them? Nerites are also valuable so I don't know if I'm willing to try this either. How about the Viviparus sp.? This is another species I think nobody has tried mixing with assassins and I'm not willing to do the mix either.

I have larger to medium nerites running around as happy as clams in 2 tanks with Assassins, no loses as of yet. Arakkis has lost olive nerites to them though.
