Hi all - I have a handful of assassin snails in my 90 gal, got them about 6 months ago for a snail problem which they took care of quickly. Other than them, there aren't any snails left in the tank. I do feed (the fish) with pellet food occasionally and drop some algae wafers in there from time to time for the BN plecos, but otherwise don't do anything special for the snails. Not only are they living, but I've got a ton of tiny assassin snails roaming around so it looks like they bred too. Is there anything special to do for them, since there aren't any snails left in there for them to eat? Thanks in advance.

I use Repashy Meat Pie as a supplement for my Assassin snails that have done a wonderful job of removing the pest snails. I have also heard that shrimp pellet food is a good choice but I haven't tried it.

I wound up picking up some pest snails somehow, and was torn on how to treat them. For me, chemical treatment was NOT an option. Didn't want to add the the bioload of my tank with several clown loaches, so decided on 3 assassin snails for my 55 gallon tank.

I've had them about 9 months. I JUST counted today and I have 11. I still have some pest snails, but not many. It's totally fine with me because it keeps the Assassins happy. The slow rate of reproduction is fine too, because my LFS will take my extras on trade. Granted, it's not a lot of money, but hey... it goes toward my next fish purchase.

Mine eat anything they want. Never bother fish or shrimp (unless they have died) and sometimes even eat Pleco poop. Gross, but helpful!!
