Are there any clubs in the salt lake valley because I don't know anyone else who is into planted tanks

I have been wondering the same thing. There definitely should be. I'm sure there are more out there that would be interested. The only thing I was able to find was the Greater Salt Lake Aquarium society (Current newsletter). It's not really planted tank oriented though.

Yeah I'd want planted tank clubs, I've heard of nature aquarium society if Utah but I don't think that exists anymore sadly I'm not exactly sure though.

There is the Utah Aquatic Plant Society, although most of the activity I know about is just on Facebook, I haven't heard of any actual meetups since some aquascaping classes Mike put on around the time he organized the group, but there could have been some I didn't hear about.

I would definitely be interested in networking with any planted tank folks around here though.

That's something at least. I didn't know about that group. I just requested to join. It would be cool if it was more active. I would love to meet some other people in the area, trade some plants, learn from each other. I know who Mike is and he seems to be pretty busy with his store and the plant business on the side. Maybe that's why it's not as active.

I started a Facebook group in Colorado before moving to Logan for this exact purpose and it was a more general group, not a specific club and it grew to 200 people pretty quickly. I think I might start another and see if we can't get it going. Anyone wan to help me moderate?

It is pretty easy. Approving new members, flagging/removing posts when they spam, stuff like that. Send me a Facebook PM after I post the group link here

I have found you will get lots of more casual members this way, but then we can use this to set up mini-auctions or meetings or whatever. My 280 gallon low tech should be set up within a couple of weeks, after that I wouldn't mind hosting a meeting of some kind, the problem is that I live in Logan.
