I've been doing some searching and much to my surprise, manzanita is another word for a group of trees belonging to the arbutus genus. Well, I am lucky enough living on the beautiful northwest coast (BC, Can) that we have native arbutus here. THey are a yellow listed species, meaning by law you are not allowed to touch, or cut down any of these trees without permits. However, privately owned trees do not fall under this rule and I have found on my local freecycle group a whole lot of arbutus branches from a big trim.
My question is, will boiling and soaking be enough to prep these for an aquarium? I'm pretty sure they will sink, but not positive, arbutus is pretty dense.
Anyways, love to here any thoughts.
