Aquatop leaking, can it be too much filter floss?

Hey guys I found my aquatop 500 canister filter leaking last night and immediately unplugged it and left it in our extra shower.

I haven't broken anything on the filter and everything is in good shape.

I used regular filter floss in every level. Could that possibly be the issue? I would like to skip having to buy a new filter if that's the only issue. I thought adding it to every tray would help Polish the water.

Do you know what part it is leaking from? That's the first part to fixing it

Not a clue. I just noticed when I moved it just a hair to get it out from under my stand, water came out of the sides everywhere like it was over full

Upon taking it apart I've found there are a million snails and eggs all throughout the canister

If its still in working order I would add a prefilter to the intake before resuming service. Also without flow for that length of time I would expect your tank to start cycling again as most of the bacteria in the filter have probably died off so keep an eye out for that.

Well I have a fluval fx6 running on the other side also. I think I'm gonna put the filter in a 5 gallon bucket and run it to see what happens.

I'm gonna say it's toast. There's water all in the uv bulb
