Aquatek Mini and CO2 cartridges?

I'm sure this is a really stupid question, but I'll ask it anyway. Can the Aquatek Mini CO2 regulator be modified to use 16 gram threaded bicycle tire inflator cartridges? I live in the middle of nowhere and paintball tank refills are at least an hour away. I can get the cartridges delivered from Amazon for about a buck a piece. I'd be using this on a 5gal nano tank and would like to get at least a week from a cartridge.

I know the Fluval 20 can use the 16s... just got some.

Nope... the aquatech one can't use the 16g ones... too small.

I know that the Aquatek regulator is designed for paintball tanks but am wondering if it can be modified to use cartridges.

What are the size differences? Figure that out and then look up a "step up" similar to what people use to step down to a paintball cylinder. I'm sure there is one out there. I bet you'd find one in the world of beverage suppliers.
