I always see those T5 lights with brackets. Do they have to be install on the endge of the fish tank? Can they actually attached to the hood of the fish tank because my tank has the hood (canopy).

Yes, you should be able to drill through the top and into your canopy roof.

But since you have a canopy and aren't concerned about looks, why not go with a (cheaper) retrofit setup? They come with reflectors, ballast, wiring, and endcaps (and sometimes bulbs) and can save you a few bucks. And you can place them any way you want. I'd check ahsupply.com for really high quality ones.

Thanks Kev, but I just wanted to try those cheaper light of oddysey. I am having problem with the light, since there is no 72, I might have to get 2 of 36". The other problem is the brackets. :icon_conf
