Just tried to go to Aquadise's store on ebay and it seems he no longer has a store there.

Anyone know what's going on? Some people have had bad experiences buy mine were always good.

I know some major weather events around Thailand has delayed a lot of
overseas shipping to mid November which may impact the plant trade.
so Aquadise pulled all his auctions until his shipping channel clears up.

you can email them directly and ask: customerserviceATaquadiseDOTcom
I have bought plants from him in the past. I was checking my feedback on ebay just last night, and it said he was no longer a registered member of ebay. Did he change names or disappear?
I just recieved a small shipment from them today. It took forever to get though.
Ah, what do I do if I paid for it about 3-4 days ago, but the myebay thing was messed up, so I don't know what happened with it...
If you look the feedback for aquadisestore, you will see that they have taken an absolute nose dive recently. I actually had a recent order that was completely wrong. They made it right by refunding the entire amount to me and letting me keep the plants, but it would appear that was a major recurring issue with them.
Yeah they are a crappy store. CS wise yeah great they do refunds. But that still leaves you with plants you don't want and without the plants you do. not to mention the time you waste dealing with them.

if you've sent them money over 10 days ago and haven't heard back go back to your paypal and file a dispute.

Our hobby is better off without stores like this.
I think someone over there had a real attitude problem.
Here is an exchange I had with them regarding the SMS they sold;

are you actually filling a 12x12x8" USPS flat rate box with this gravel?

don't worry, we know how to handle it.

It would really serve your customers best if you simply answered their questions.
I'm trying to determine the VOLUME of space of that repacked Lesco Soilmaster
Select you are selling. If you are shipping it in 11x8x5 boxes, that would NOT be
enough for a 20g tank, but if you are shipping 12x12x8 boxes, then it would.

we have different size box and we will use whatever size is neccessary.
it will most likely be 12x12x8 just like you wanted.

In retrospect, selling perishables and fragile accessories long distance individually and for so little has got to be a thankless job. any US based seller would charge double what Aquadise and similar Asian based ebaY resellers do. That's why I never complain when an order gets screwed up, and am grateful they are willing to refund or replace at their cost. It's only when the ebaY sales page itself turns out to be deceptive (selling an immersed plant as submerged, or getting an plastic/glass item different then what is pictured) that I get upset.

People here forget how expensive a DOA order can be. for example I ordered a DVD Burner for $30 on newegg and paid $5 shipping. it was DOA, but it cost me $8 to issue and RMA and get a return preposted return box as per their policy. so now I have no new drive, am out $13 and my time to troubleshoot the DOA drive, then box up and drop off the return. so why doesn't everyone bitch and moan about newegg all over the web? because every adult here knows that $#%@ happens, so why you people complain about Aquadise when he refunds your money completely is beyond comprehension.

I always had great experiences with Aquadise. Not always perfect but they always made things right.

I was about to place a large order with them, which is why I wanted to know if anyone knew if they would be back.

Because my time is worth something too. And If I order from this guy and I get the wrong plants I have to go back ask for a refund then find a different seller of the plant I wanted and the wait again for it to arrive. As for DOA he could have done better to pack his plants and glass co2 supplies then to toss them in a flat envelope. If I buy something I don't want my money back. I want the product that I ordered. Hey can't refund my time. If his issues were few and far between that would be one thing. But this seemed to be a ongoing and consistent problem with him.

If he could just ship the right things he would be a great seller with great customer service. But the core of his business seems to have a major flaw.

Exactly.

I have purchased thousands of dollars worth of stuff from newegg. The only reason I started going anywhere else was because they opened a facility in TN, so now its shipping and sales tax (~9.25%) for me. The number of issues that I've had with newegg is so small that I cannot think of one right now. Comparing Aquadise to newegg is like comparing him to Drs. Foster and Smith--there is no comparison, except:

Aquadise--This is how you do not run a business!

The Drs.--This is how you run a business!
Whoa, he's not a registered user on eBay any more.

Heh, yep.

Are his prices the same as before? Can't remember.

you completely missed the point.

with most DOA's you pay shipping both ways and only get the product price refunded.

with Aquadise, you don't need to ship back the DOA, and he even refunds the shipping.

(he didn't even expect me to return drygoods when he shipped
me the wrong Co2 diffuser, as he refunded AND let me keep it.)

I wish ALL online resellers were as DOA generous as Aquadise.

granted, we all wish DOA's didn't occur, but like every adult knows,
$#&@ happens, especially when you risk dealing with livestock that
is shipped Internationally from halfway around the Globe!

People who complain about Aquadise
after he's already refunded your money
are nothing but a bunch of cry babies.

No spypet--I got the point:

The point is:

With Aquadise--DOAs and other "problems" are regular and expected.

With companies like Newegg and the Drs.--DOAs and other "problems" are minimal. I've done "lotsa" business with both--and had absolutely minimal problems which were handled with minimal 'headache" for me.

You may want to re-read this post by Blacksunshine. I think it pretty much sums up most customer's point of view:

Emphasis added.

Yes, @#%& happens, but Aquadise is just a manure farm.

Naja, I understand. I just used the debate to clarify my point.

as a fellow bulk buyer of technology, you might find this interesting;
1 out of 20 of every unit I purchase has some disqualifying defect.
I talk to many wholesalers who protect their costs with the same ratio.
I find this ratio useful while over compensating when ordering for
mission critical projects. so if I need to replace/upgrade 100 units
over a weekend, I always order 105, and return what's DOA or unused.
HI spypet,

I was adding/editing the previous post as you were responding.

I'm not a "bulk buyer", but I have received many shipments from both companies. The only reason I don't buy from Newegg anymore is the sales tax. I wish they would have stepped across the border and opened that facility in KY.

I'm just a private consumer, so I can expect the "happen-chance" of less problems by the simple purchase of less items, and by ratio--I would say my overall experience with them is less then the 5% (1:20) that You deal with. I can't recall a single problem that I had with Newegg. I changed my mind on an item one time, sent it back, called and they dropped the 15% restocking fee! I just wanted them to reduce it ($75) and they dropped it completely--just by me calling and asking them to reduce it! But I had already spent several thousand $$ with them at that point and I was buying regularly. Same with the Drs.--I've had one issue that I can think of and that was a leaking, mostly empty 2L bottle of Flourish. I went to live onlie help (chat) took 10 mintues and they sent a new bottle at their expensive. I can't ask for more than that. I don't ask for more than that. These companies get it right 95%+ of the time.

Aquadise seems to get it wrong 95%+ of the time. Reserving the "Right to Substitiute" is something that needs to be done wisely. Not as a course of standard busniess. I don't want stuff I didn't order. I just want the stuff I did order. Aquadise "offers" all kinds of stuff--then sends whatever he wants. How would Your income look if newegg treated you that way? I'd say you'd be out of a job. Aauadise is nowhere near the 5% margin-of-error.

I guess I don't consider time
wasted to be a factor where
a hobby is concerned. that's
why I gladly share items with
people here near shipping cost.
it has nothing to do with being
"kind", it simply enhances my
enjoyment of this hobby to share,
and benefit from other's who do.

so if a crappy plant seller wastes
my time, that does not bother me
as much as wasting my money, or
risking my tank with his algae.

I just look at the way a company treats me the customer.

If its hobby then its my problem.

If its work then its my problem with other people looking at me wanting to know what the @#&% the problem is. If I choose to do business with sub-par companies--then the problem is me.

@#&% happens--You definitely got that right. But if I choose to do business with a sub-par company, then I choose to waste my own time.

I choose to waste a lot of my time--but its not by dealing with sub-par companies like Aquadise.....
