Hey All,
I was at the LFS today and i was talking to the guy there. Its a specialized fish store, not a "pet" store so i took what he had to say as true but want to double check.
1) He told me that i shouldnt be using active carbon in my mature tanks filter system because it will remove some of the trace elements i will be adding. T or F ?
2) Also he said that instead of the carbon layer in the Aqua Clear filter to just use 2 sponges (instead of 1) for extra mechanical filtration and some bio-rings to help with biological filtration if i want, but they weren't absolutely necessary because a mature tank usually has enough bio filtration going on on the surfaces in the tank. T or F ?
