Is it normal for Aqua Soil-Amazonia II to bleach water yellow??
I did a dry start on some UG and HC for some time and about two weeks ago I filled it with water and every time I change it, it is yellow.
Thank you.

Do you have wood in the tank?
Petrified wood but it was soaked for a week after a quick boil

A week soal will not do much to get rid of the tannings. The best you can do is keep up with the water changes. Tannings are not harmful however.

I think petrified wood already has the tannins removed:)
ummm yea petrified wood is a rock lol.
Yes I would think the tannins have been removed over millions of years.

Unless it was petrified wood regrown in a lab on an island by a eccentric entrepreneur millionaire that strikingly resembles Colonel Sanders and who intends to use it in his dinosaur themed amusement park, it probably is not the petrified wood.

I've had cloudy with AS but never yellow. Do you have anything else in the tank, perhaps under the AS?
No just about 3” of AS, what could make my water yellow?? I thought it might be green but it is not it is yellow.
I changed my carbon in the filter with hope it will help.
Lol, my bad. I read wood and I thought driftwood. I've never had/seen petrified wood before.

Petrified wood does not leach tannins. Amazonia II can do it a little though.
I hope one or two more big water changes and the water will stay clear
With my moonlight on @ night the water looks green it looks bad
Id do a 50% H2O change ever other day for a week or so and see how that works. Keep us updated!

It is common for it to stain your water. Adding carbon was a good idea, as is large water changes.
Update:
Well I try to do 50% water change every 3 days and still got yellow water!!
What if I am color blind the water is green? what can I do with that?
