Although I was fascinated by Apistogramma ever since I got into the hobby, however I never got the urge to keep them until I came upon my favorite species, Apistogramma elizabethae 'Super Red'. It was definitely an impulse-buy considering the fact they are finicky and a "blackwater" species.

Those are definitely some of the finest apistos I've seen. I just got some A. macmasteri myself although I've kept several different species in the past.

I got them from Atlantis Tropical Fish Hatchery as well.

Nice apistos!! Are they mellow or cranky?

The male is mostly mellow, except around feeding time he turns a tad aggressive. The female shows no signs of aggression at all.
