Hey guys! So I have finally got around to revamping my 20 gallon long tank that was neglected while I was busy with University, but alas I have it up and running again and stocked with 10 neon tetras and just acquired two apistogramma cacatuoides. They are 'Triple red' but I'm unable to sex one of them. Attached is a picture of the 'female' in question and a picture of the male just for fun!
Thanks for the help in advance.

Looks like a female (top photo), but could be a sneaker male. How do they interact? Does the male wag his tale or does he shimmy at the other apisto?

So far when I have observed them the 'female' tries to grab the males attention but he usually flares and pushes her away. So that is where some of the confusion lays. Thank you for the response!

Probably a female. Don't let that little splash of color throw you on her caudal fin. I've had a few pairs of these guys. Fascinating buggers
So the fish in question is looking more like a female everyday but the male I have keep bullying her around the tank. Anytime they get close anywhere in my tank he will chase her away. Is there a chance it's a sleeper male?
