I've had it a couple years and its spreading really well. BUT i wanted to find out "how" to trim it down without harming the plants. It's kind of taking over the foreground of the tank.

I would say Corkscrew Vallisneria.

If you want to cut the leaves, make sure you do it as close to the crown (base) as possible.

The smaller plants can be separated by cutting them at the crown/runner, up rooting the cut plant, and then replanting elsewhere.
