Yeah no problems now that i could use help with just got done battling an alge bloom just looking for some people in the hobby. Most of the advice i could use is just some of the more basic things.Well actually whats a good way to oxygenate your tank i have a pretty good size air stone strip in now, but my cory cats keep darting to the surface to get air. I have it pretty well planted and i thought the plants would do a lot of the oxygen producing.

that is just what cory cats do, they do it in the wild, I saw a vid of them down in south america in one of the rivers ans yeah the river was like a constant barrage of corys surfacing, you can use and airstone or a powerhead some have a air siphon tube thingy, and which kind of algae were you fighting?

I'm fairly certain it was brown alge/diatoms I got a couple Otto cats and cut my light duration back. Think that's got it under control, there's still a little but it's not spreading like crazy anymore.

Mark if i had the room i would love some swords. I will still give you that water sprite though if you want it. Now if you had a couple cuttings of Rotalla rotundafolia i would make room for that. Just let me know i dont mind just giving you the sprite no trade needed. I just hate throwing away healthy plants that could be replanted.

Does anyone know of any good fish stores in the area? Pet Cove and Sea Oddities in Kingsport have some things. Pet Smart is well Pet Smart. Same thing all the time. Aquarium in Knoxville is OK. Is there anything in Bristol? There is a ad on Craigslist in JC but seems to have only Africans. I have been to a couple of stores in Asheville but they have mainly saltwater stuff.
Petco in Asheville sometimes has plants.

Well, there's Pet Partners in Bristol. Don't know as I'd call it a GOOD pet store though. There's also Village Pets in JC. They seem to focus on things other than fish.

Pet cove and Sea Oddities are defiantly the two best stores in the tricities, sadly. Tracy at Pet Cove is super helpful though, and will order anything you want. There is a new one in Erwin, called Erwin Pets. She has some things as well, plants and a few (large) oddball fish.
