sure thing. Sorry if I bought up your danios I was really shocked/stoked to find them there.

I've got lots of rotalla indica, ludwigia repens, some other kind of rotalla, tons of water lettuce, water wisteria, hornwort, annd....that's all I can remember right now. you can check my Tank Build thread for pics and see if there's anything you want.

I just joined - I live in Goose Creek, only just getting into the hobby. I have a small planted with a betta and mystery snail, about to set up a second 5.5 with another betta/snails to hold me over while I plan out a 29g. I'd have bigger but no space. Interested in buying low light hardy plants for the smaller tank right now - have nothing to trade, since I'm only getting started. Also interested in RCS.

Also, if anyone wants to let me know what the good LFS are I'd love to know. I've lived here four years but I still don't know jack about anything here.

Tideline Aquatics is far and above the best LFS around here. Really good people. Their prices are little on the high side, but their stock is excellent quality.

I unfortunately don't have any low-light plants, but if you stepped up to medium I could give you a ton of clippings.

also, RCS with Bettas tend to turn into snacks, just an FYI

Sounds good. I'm going to try to get to Tideline and look around tomorrow . . . I think when I set up a 29g I'll do medium. And the shrimp - forgot to mention I was going to set up a small tank of just shrimp. I have an empty cycled 3 with some plants, but no moss, yet. Though now that I'm setting up the second 5.5 I might hold off on that so I can just work on one thing at a time lest one of them end up suffering aquascaping neglect . . .

Edit: Is there anywhere good around here to buy pieces of driftwood? I took a gamble on Amazon and the piece I got looks horrible, nothing like the picture and leeching tannins like crazy soaking. It was too cheap to bother returning, but now I'm at a standstill on the new 5.5 til I get something interesting for in it.

I got mine from Tideline and Age Of Aquariums in West Ashley. Age doesn't have as good quality fish as Tideline - but has great selections of driftwood and other materials

Thanks! I went to Tideline today just to look around and buy a few plants - fun trip, loved looking at all the fish. No driftwood at all but still worth a visit. Going to try to get to Age of Aquariums before we head out on vacation for the 4th and at least let the new one get started while I'm gone.

Ahh, that's probably the problem. I didn't know they had an out back section. Just the shop I saw. Oh well, I'll just have to go back. So terrible.

I did find the perfect piece for the new tank last week at AoA, so it all works out . Threw a couple plants in it from another tank and now I just have to figure out what else to do with it.

I agree. Pricey but the best locally. Hoping to find duckweed during my next visit there for my FG.

Haha, I guess I had forgotten to reply that the RCS wouldn't be going in with a betta. Except I had a 5g ready for them . . . and then bought another betta. I'm thinking about getting a 15g tall stand tank for in between my desk and my husband's and doing inverts only - snails and shrimp. So once I get that going and cycled I'll be looking again.

Tideline has been great. I keep finding reasons to go in 'just to look.'

I've got a TON of baby swords that I need to trim up, as well as some Dwarf Water Lettuce, Duckweed, and rotalla r.

I also can pull up some Flame Moss, Java Moss, and Peacock Moss.

Hello everyone! I've had my 55gal for about a year coming up in November. Currently stocked with 4 angels (already have a pair, only one spawn so far) some red eye tetras and some other red tetras. Looking to add a few plants but I figure due to only having gravel and not wanting to mess with the tanks cycle I was considering maybe tossing some java moss in there first, perhaps I can tie it up on something to make a carpet wall on the back of my tank? If anyone has some to spare I don't mind paying. Shipping on Amazon is pretty high and I'd rather find someone local. Also if anyone has any tips on getting my angelfish pair to spawn again that'd be great! Trying to get what I can started without too much wife aggro!

welcome! even if you only have gravel - you can buy root tabs for reallly really cheap and push those into the substrate - then you're golden!

I unfortunately don't have any moss to spare, but I do have lots of baby Amazon swords

Yea just trying to find something to put in my tank so I can get rid of all these ornaments! Also I've heard plants can help with lowering algae growth? (Which would be good since I have the basic green algae and a little bit of black hair, which is terrible!) Tried my luck with a few shrimp in the tank but they don't seem to do much with the algae.
