I have a 20 gallon long tank that has been set up for about nine months now. It's lit with a Finnex Stingray for six hours, and I dose about half of Barr's recommended amounts for a low tech tank. Within the last couple of weeks I've had trouble with Spirogyra. I believe it came in with some moss I got, but I can't be sure. I remove as much of it as I can every day or two, but it comes right back.

I've been doing some reading and it seems like the only thing that helps is AlgaeFix. The problem is that I have a ton of shrimp and snails in the tank. I couldn't remove them without tearing down the whole tank, too many plants and hiding places.

Any suggestions for something that might help, but won't murder all my cute invert friends?
