i know there are a lot of plants that do a good job when you want to create a sense of scale, plants with particularly small leaves or that for one reason or the other look like larger plants but in a tiny form. like Christmas fern being made to look like pine trees and such.

since it is such a common sub type of tank design, i was wondering if there was any good list of plants that folks felt were good for it?

when i look thru plant databases, it is hard to tell scale from pictures, and even listed plant sized usually talk about the entire plant rather than the size of a given leaf.

anyway, I've been searching and will keep searching, but links would be super helpful

I don't know of a list but you could look through AGA contest tanks as plants used are listed along with tank size, fish in tank and often good info on substrate, lighting and fertilizing.
