Hello all. Was just wondering what everyones input was on snails. Not the small ones u get that seem 2 "hitch" a ride home from the LFS on plants... The bigger ones... Any input??? Good? Bad? I have a 25 gallon planted tank w/ 9 platties / mollies & 5 red cherry shrimp...

I have one golf-ball sized apple snail. He does a great job cleaning up detritus and algae. He's fun to watch because he'll "surf" from plant to plant. I also have a bunch of ramshorn snails and 5 assassin snails to keep the ramshorns under control.

The assassin doesn't bother the Apple snail?

I keep Ramshorns and MTS. I wouldn't have a planted tank without them. I cull on a regular basis and I don't have over population problems.

i keep horned nerites, they don't reproduce and they are cute

I like my MTS and ramhorns. I use to keep apples too.

My 70g planted has 3 apple snails about 10 assasin snails and pond and ramshorns plants are fine snails get along and my assasins breed like crazy

Just got some golden mystery snails donated. I think they are going to be my new favorites.
