I've seen and used many times the timer switches that you turn to run a heat lamp or Jacuzzi/whirlpool tub. Is there any way to rig one of these to work in reverse?

I have a skimmer on our tank and want to use it to turn power off to canister while fish are eating. Turn timer and walk away. Right now I'm unplugging canister.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Was looking for something mechanical to reduce the entry points into our home network. Wi-Fi isn't always your friend.
